Clifton Park Hospital celebrates 10 years of caring for patients in York.

The future is bright for Clifton Park Hospital, which celebrates its 10th Anniversary this month. York’s only specialist Orthopaedic hospital has come a long way since the first patient walked through the doors on the 26th January 2006. Clifton Park has been awarded a new contract to continue its respected work and significant new investment is planned at a site that employs over 150 people.

Seventeen of the hospital’s staff, from various departments, also celebrated their 10th year of service this week. The day was recognised by a celebration cake for the dedicated staff and new General Manager, Donna Thornton, also a long serving member of staff for Ramsay, rewarded her team with gifts.

Donna said: “I am delighted to be managing such a dedicated team at Clifton Park.  Our highly skilled and committed team play a huge part in giving the hospital its great reputation in Yorkshire.”

Joy Lever, Reception Lead quoted: “I remember our first day all gathered together at the Station Hotel ready for our training, all strangers in a room meeting for the first time. By the end of the 4 weeks training we were a great team,

She added: “Although there is only seventeen of the original team remaining, everyone who has joined since have been welcomed and have become part of our committed team very quickly. We have seen lots of development and changes over the years, but always keeping our focus on the patients. I have had a very happy 10 years working here welcoming patients new and old and look forward to be hopefully doing more of this for another 10!"

Clifton Park, York’s only specialist Orthopaedic Hospital, operated by private health care provider Ramsay Health Care employs more than 150 people, celebrated last year (2015) when they were awarded a new contract to continue to operating orthopaedic services by NHS Vale of York Clinical Commissioning Group.

Since Ramsay UK have been operating Clifton Park Hospital, they have invested in excess of £1.2 million and has plans to continue to invest over the next 5 years of the contract.
